Kilmore Quay

Kilmore Quay, Co. Wexford by Tom Moore

Kilmore Quay is a small, rural fishing village in south Wexford. I have been birding here for the best part of 20 years.

On the west side of the pier is a lovely beach, good for Divers and seawatching in Autumn. To the east is a shingle beach, good for waders at low tide. St Patrick's bridge is a natural stone causeway reaching out from the East of the pier and is an great spot for rare gulls.

But the main bird interest is centered around the pier, with busy trawler activity is an excellent spot for gullwatching, with many notable rares found here. In and around the pier is a good spot for Terns in summer also.
